On June 16, 2026, Congosem organized a Field Day in\u00a0Djiri-Kint\u00e9l\u00e9, north of Brazzaville, bringing together local vegetable growers. The event aimed to showcase and evaluate new tomato and eggplant breeding varieties under real farming conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants observed the eggplant variety ZORA<\/strong> and the tomatoes varieties ZAZOU<\/strong> and TEMBO<\/strong>, compared with the control variety COBRA 26<\/strong>. Field observations highlighted strong plant vigor, good yield potential, and excellent fruit quality. ZORA demonstrated vigorous growth and consistent production, while ZAZOU<\/strong> and TEMBO<\/strong> attracted significant interest due to their uniformity and market appeal<\/a>. TEMBO<\/strong> also stood out for its excellent post-harvest shelf life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discussions between farmers and the Congosem team provided valuable feedback on field needs and varietal expectations. Overall, the results were highly encouraging and support the future adoption of these varieties in Congo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
