From February 11 to 20, I had the opportunity to carry out my first mission in Cameroon, at the IROKO station<\/mark><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This trip also gave me the chance to meet Patrice, the new laboratory technician who joined at the end of 2025 to replace Christelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrice showed me how the routine tests are conducted to assess bacterial wilt in pepper under field conditions as part of the Long Dry Season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also took advantage of this mission to develop new tests together, both in the laboratory and in tunnels, particularly on black rot in cabbage and anthracnose in watermelon.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

During the Research Meeting week, we visited several plots on the station to observe and identify diseases affecting various vegetable crops<\/mark><\/strong>, accompanied by Christian and Donald, who are in charge of the technical aspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These field observations provided an opportunity to exchange insights on the plant health issues encountered locally.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I take away from this mission<\/mark><\/strong> is the richness of the technical exchanges and the complementarity between the observations carried out in the field and the work conducted in the laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrice also has strong knowledge and technical skills, which contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
