This assignment is of particular importance as <strong>it is my first assignment in my role as Regional Head of Administration and Finance (RAF-R).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Special attention was paid to getting to know the local team.<\/strong> This step was essential for building trust, clarifying responsibilities, and facilitating communication among the various accounts and cost allocation rules.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regular meetings have been organised to present and explain the strategic objectives and the new accounting and financial guidelines associated with this role.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Closing of the 2025 financial year:<\/strong> Finalise accounting entries and verify the consistency of the accounts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Implementation of the group chart of accounts:<\/strong> Adapt and roll out a harmonised chart of accounts in line with group standards, facilitating the consolidation and comparison of financial data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Opening of the 2026 financial year:<\/strong> Generate retained earnings from the 2025 financial year-end using the new group chart of accounts and ensure compliance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Update:<\/strong> follow-up on the recommendations arising from the latest audit visits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image launched<\/strong>, facilitating the monitoring and control of future transactions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Recommendation<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Continue to provide ongoing training for local teams<\/strong> to ensure they are fully familiar with the new chart of accounts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Carry out a periodic audit<\/strong> to verify that the new procedures are being correctly applied and to anticipate any potential difficulties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, this assignment \u2013 my first as Regional Head of Administration and Finance \u2013 has enabled us, on the one hand, <strong>to lay the foundations for a robust and consistent group accounting system in Nigeria<\/strong>, ensuring a smooth transition between the 2025 and 2026 financial years.
